Anything that has a shape will crumble away. Anything in a flock will disband.
We’re all like bees, alone in this world, buzzing and searching for a place to rest. So we offer this prayer:
Delusions are as various as the reflections of the moon on a rippling sea. Beings so easily become caught in a net of confused pain. May I develop compassion boundless as the sky so that all may rest in the clear light of their own awareness.
Howdy Brother!
Got your text yesterday. I meant to comment on this particular post within a week and as we can see it took me 3 weeks to do so…. Kind of a sign of the times.
I received the The Rule and Exercises of Holy Dying book you sent me about the time of the post. Curious if the post above is from that or if you came up with it on your own. I will do my best to read the book (downloaded a copy to my kindle), but no promises. I’ve read the first few pages and that era of prose is going to be hard for me. Just an honest assessment on probabilities 🙂
I am keenly aware that your struggle with loss of mom & dad is different than mine. I won’t try to quantify it here since the subject matter is very deep and philosophical.
I have been wondering how you are doing though. We have not communicated nearly enough so far this year and I hope that is more a sign of busyness for you vs one of sentiment. I had mentioned I expected to be busy through Memorial day in our prior conversations. I’ve come to the realization that I focus too much on work and am in the process of limiting my hours dedicated to work. So having said that and arcing back to your text yesterday, whenever is a good time for you a visit is welcome. Whether that be me and the wife there or you guys coming here or just you and I meeting up and hanging out somewhere by ourselves for a few days.
Call due within the next 5 days regardless… name a time for it and I will be sure it happens.
Love you so much and have I mentioned how happy I am for you to not be in Denver by yourself?
It’s from the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
